Renovating a kitchen can be overwhelming, with so many considerations and design options, it's important to step back and do some research.
Here are top kitchen remodelling tips for you to consider to create a functional living space:
Don’t place an appliance in a walkway. For example, don’t place wall ovens near the doorway into another room, especially if there’s a door.
Do place appliances in areas that create work stations and away from high traffic areas.
Don’t leave less than 36” in walkways to ensure there's plenty of walking space
Do leave between 42”-48” in walkways, especially if there’s seating.
Don’t underestimate the importance of lighting in a kitchen. A kitchen is a space where you can’t have enough light!
Do layer lighting: mix under-cabinet lights, general lighting, accent lighting (pendants, wall sconces, etc).
Don’t forget the waste in the kitchen!
Do incorporate a garbage/recycling area near the prep sink.
